About Us

Double L Ranch

Double L Ranch was founded in Trego, Montana in 2021 by two cousins with an unrelenting love of

the outdoors. Situated on hundreds of pristine, private acres in the Rocky Mountains, the “Double L” is surrounded by thousands of acres of National Forest and State Land allowing vast, unobstructed views of the Salish, Cabinet, Lewis and Livingston mountain ranges. The diverse landscape embodies nature at its finest; from grassy wetlands adjacent to Butcher Creek and Fortine Creek, to rocky and wooded mountain tops with sensational views. A large casting pond, kids’ fishing pond, multiple swimming holes, quaint meadows and 7 miles of groomed trails provide limitless outdoor activities and adventure year round.

Trego, MT

Trego is the hidden gem of Northwest Montana. Serving as the gateway to the Tobacco Valley and just 35 miles south of Canada, this small, unincorporated town was initially settled by the Fortin family in the early 20th century; their original farmhouse still stands on what is now Blarney Heights Farm. Trego grew when the Great Northern Railroad laid tracks through town, with a train depot and post office following soon after.

The railway through Trego remains an active resource operated by BNSF. Freight transports and passenger Amtrak trains run the rails daily, utilizing the 7-mile long Flathead Tunnel, America’s second-longest railroad tunnel. There is truly nothing more majestic than hearing a faint whistle blow while taking in the fresh mountain air on a misty morning or during a blazing sunset.

Maximus, Penny Lane & Chief

Directors of Fun & Mischief

These three have it made. They keep close watch on the Double L Ranch and have a ball doing so. They have befriended some of the regular wildlife and love to chase the rest. They love to swim in the creeks and play in the snow, and they’re always up for a good belly rub.
